A self-alignment torque correction control unit (24) compensates excess and insufficiency of self-alignment torque of a vehicle, by controlling an electric motor (M) for proving driving power to steering mechanism (3), based on the vehicle speed and steering angle detected by respective vehicle speed sensor (7) and steering angle sensor (6). An Independent claim is also included for an electric power steering apparatus.
