The data signal is recorded alternatingly with sections of non-useful data signals, when magnetic tape recording rate corresponds to multiple data transfer rate of the signal to be recorded. Another data signal is overwritten in the sections of the non-useful data signals, when magnetic tape recording rate corresponds to the multiple data transfer rate of the data signal that is to be overwritten. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) digital signals recording apparatus; and (2) film editing system.
