The passenger table for especially a railway carriage has a table top (1) connected to the wall (4) of the carriage by a fastening element, the inner (2) and outer (3) section are interlocked by a form-lock constructed coupling (5) which can be disconnected by means of a manually actuated operating means (6). The coupling has a number of balls (5a) which on one side interacts with a transverse bore of the inner section of the fastening element connected to the table top, and on the other side interacts with an inner slot of outer section of the fastening element connected to the wall of the carriage.
