The barrier contains a telescopic arrangement of steel profiles which are spring-loaded by intermediate spring components. The first profile is fixed and the second profile can be moved towards the first one in the axial direction of the spring component. This enables the distance between the profiles to be altered, so that the collision force absorption of the barrier can be varied.
