Plug contact for ribbon cable, uses insulation piercing contacts for contacting ribbon cable

A U-shaped clamp (6) with two long limbs (6a,6b) and a basic limb (6c) is used. A fixed insert (7) seals the clamp on its open side and insulation piercing contacts form the contact with the ribbon cable (2). A pressure element (9) for seating all the conductors of the cable in common into the insulation piercing contacts is carried between the two long limbs of the U-shaped clamp and grips the ribbon cable over its total width. The pressure element is adjusted by screw.
