The sieving machine (1) has a rectangular fine sieve netting (2) with a mesh width of less than 500 microns, with clamping devices to clamp the side edges of the netting to the machine, and tensioning devices by which the sieve netting is tensioned in the transverse direction. The clamping devices are formed by clamping strips (3,4) between which is clamped the side edge of the sieve netting, with the clamping pressure being adjustable. The tensioning devices are pneumatically operated.
