The pushchair has the operating element of a control mechanism (8) located on a rotatable element which is subjected normally in the non-operating position to a side pressure and is not connected to a rotational brake (40). If the locked state of a locking device (12) is broken, the operating element moves by a defined distance and can then be pressed downwards in order move the brake downwards to release the locked state between the brake and handle (2). Consequently, the rotating element and a pull element (60) are rotated to pull on a steel cable (13) to release the locking device.
