The safety grid, covering the open end of a pipe channel (1), has a holder for the grid rods (6) which is structured so that one or some or all of the rods can be detached from the holder. The rods are locked at the holder at two or more points at a head or a limit stop or an opening, with a release clip which swings over the rod from one side. The grid rods are held in a frame, which covers the pipe channel width and more than one-half its height, using horizontal lower and upper profiles (3,4) and two vertical profiles (2). A locking profile (5) prevents rod movement.
