A concrete mixer has a mixing chamber which discharges to a pipe. The mixer chamber has a central shaft with mixer blades and is rotated by a motor. The central shaft esp. has a water passage in line with the shaft, and having water jets directed through the shaft wall at the inner face of the mixer chamber. The water passage is linked to a high-pressure water supply during the post-mixing cleaning operation.
