Against ralstonia solanacearum active bactericidal compositions

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antagonistic agent capable of selectively inhibiting growth of Ralstonia solanacearum which causes bacterial wilt to selectively prevent bacterial wilt surely without side effects even at a low concentration by including a specific indolylbutyric acid as an active ingredient. ;SOLUTION: This agent is obtained by including (S)-3-(3-indolyl)butyric acid shown by formula I as an active ingredient. Synthesized 3-(3-indolyl)butyric acid is a racemic mixture consisting of (S)-3-(3-indolyl)butyric acid shown by formula I and (R)-3-(3indolyl)butyric acid shown by formula II. Using only the former compound shown by formula I as an active ingredient allows prevention of the bacterial will at a low concentration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
