The invention concerns a device for deposition of a layer (30) along a specific pattern (20) on the upper surface (18) of a metal strip (16), of the type comprising an upper mask (12) unwinding with the strip (16). The invention is characterised in that it comprises an intermediate shield (14), forming a stencil, which is interposed between the mask (12) and the upper surface (18) of the metal strip (16) and which consists of a meshed network so as to obtain the deposition of a coating (30) comprising on its surface (32) a series or peaks (34) arranged according to the stencil (14) mesh pattern. The invention enables to produce components made in strip and of the type comprising a deposited layer (30) characterized in that, at their surface, the metal coating layer (30) comprises a series of peaks (34) arranged according to a meshed pattern.
