Solar cell comprises anode (A) and cathode (B) separated by a thin non-degradable plastic sheet (1) having a thin layer (2) of a mixture of silicon (Si) and selenium (Se) or molybdenum (Mo) in approximately equal weight proportions on one surface of the sheet (1). A number of angularly distributed conductive lines (5) radiate from a depleted iridium (Ir) disc (4) in the center of the thin layer (2) to a conductive edge (6). An Independent claim is given for a procedure for production of the solar cell, comprising: spraying under pressure a mixed powder of approximately equal amounts of Si and Se or Mo on a first surface of a thin sheet (1) of non-degradable plastic material, so that the powder is embedded in the plastic material; applying a metallic strip (A, B) constituting an electrode on each surface of the thin sheet (1); and applying a depleted Ir disc (4) and conductive lines (5) radiating from the center of the disc (4) to the conductive edge (6) of the cell.
