The air pump (3) comprises an air inlet (31) and outlet port (32) for air suction and delivery respectively. There is a housing base wall, from whose peripheral extends in transverse direction a peripheral wall with outwards extending edge flange (103). The base and peripheral walls form a retaining chamber (104). The chamber can hold releasably the air pump, while the housing can be sealingly coupled to the inflatable object (2). On the base wall is located an inlet stop valve, connectable to the air pump air outlet port for air flow into the object. In the edge flange is formed an air outlet coupled to object inner space, which contains a closure element.
