PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a road surface input in relation to driving wheels of a vehicle on the basis of the rotating speed of driven wheels, and to control a transmission on the basis of a result of the detection.;SOLUTION: This road surface input detecting device for a vehicle, which has the driving wheels for rotating with the torque transmitted from a power source and the driven wheels to be rotated by the torque from the road surface during traveling, is provided with a determining means (step S4) for determining condition of an input to the driving wheels from the road surface on the basis of a detection data containing, at least, the rotating speed of the driven wheels.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
