PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf tag in a printable form.;SOLUTION: A method of making a programmable shelf tag 10 includes the steps of supplying a display element formed out of a layer of a substance with a polymer diffused on a single flexible transparent substrate; mounting the display element with a substrate side down in a window 18 formed in a web of adhesive backed print medium; printing static information on the label of the print medium; supplying a support body having conductive parts with the display elements for mounting the adhesive; and attaching the adhesive label to the support body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
