PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film which comprises anatase-type titania fine crystals, has various applications, has a good appearance, is free from cracks and has photocatalytic action and photohydrophilic action, to provide a method for producing an anatase-type titania sol as a raw material for easily producing the film, and to provide a method for producing an anatase-type titania film easily producible using the anatase-type titania sol.;SOLUTION: The anatase-type titania film is formed of anatase-type titania fine crystals having a crystallite diameter of 20nm. In the method for producing an anatase-type titania sol, titanium hydroxide produced by mixing an aqueous solvent solution of a titanium compound (TiX4) and a basic substance is mixed with acid, and heating is performed at 20 to 90C. In the method for producing an anatase-type titania film, a film is formed on the surface of a base material using the anatase-type titania sol.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
