PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure dimensions of a sample lead of film carrier tape for mounting electronic components such as width, pitch, length and position automatically, extensively, exactly and in a short time.;SOLUTION: The film carrier tape for mounting electronic components temperature-controlled and humidity-controlled in a temperature/humidity controlled room is taken out of a tape mount stage, carried to a length measuring device arranged inside a measuring room connected to the temperature/humidity controlled room and width and pitch of the film carrier tape for mounting electronic components carried by the carrier device are measured by using the length measuring device. In that case air in the measuring room is exhausted through an exhausting device arranged in the measuring room and external air is introduced in the measuring room through a sucking device arranged in the measuring room to maintain the temperature and humidity inside the measuring room constant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
