PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric having water-absorbing properties at a part contacting with the skin, and water repellency enabling the bleeding of sweat to be hardly observed at other parts; to provide a product of clothing using the fabric; and to provide a method for producing the fabric. PSOLUTION: The water-absorbing fabric comprises a hydrophobic fiber and/or a water-absorbing fiber, and the fabric or the constituent fiber of the fabric is subjected to a water-repelling treatment. At least one surface of the fabric is subjected to a raising treatment, and the water-repelling agent is substantially not attached to the cut surfaces of the raised fibers.
