DRIVE UNIT OF LAUNDRY DRYER AND SPIN DRYER AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a laundry dryer and spin dryer compact by miniaturizing a driving unit. PSOLUTION: A roller for rotating a rotary drum is brought into contact with the outer circumference of the rotary drum of the laundry dryer and spin dryer, and a bearing for supporting a roller shaft and a motor are fixed to a movable motor base along the back side of the laundry dryer and spin dryer. The motor base is set along the back side of the laundry dryer and spin dryer by using an elastic body as being pulled in the direction of the center axis of the rotary drum. Accordingly, the rotation force of the motor is transmitted to the rotary drum via the roller, and at the same time, a large speed reduction ratio can be obtained between the roller and the rotary drum, and a necessary pressing load of the roller against the rotary drum can be obtained by the elastic force of the elastic body.
