PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the following problems: operations of a piston are inhibited because a sticking material on the under surface of the piston is hardened and intrudes between the piston and a hopper; mixing of the sticking material into a molding makes the appearance of the molding worse and decreases mechanical strength; a hardened molding material decreases a molding-material conveying action of a screw in a heating cylinder; and the screw is fixed to the heating cylinder and made unrotatable.;SOLUTION: An injection molding machine, which has a material feeder for feeding the molding material by pushing it, is equipped with the hopper 2 in which the molding material is stored and pressed into the heating cylinder, the piston 6 which is fitted and inserted into the hopper 2 so as to push the molding material, a moving means for moving the piston 6, which is disconnected from the hopper 2, in the lateral direction of the hopper 2, and a holding plate 9 which is provided in the rear of the moving direction of the piston 6 so as to hold an external force in a direction opposite to the moving direction of the piston 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
