Eccentric plate loading method and apparatus

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To load a plate smoothly with an eccentric vertical load by a simple method. ;SOLUTION: Hydraulic jacks 4, 4A for loading an eccentric vertical load are arranged, in pair, on the upper surface of a plate 2 mounted on the ground 1 on the opposite sides of the center line O thereof so that they can be displaced rotationally with respect to the plate 2 with the upper part abutting, movably in the horizontal direction, against the reaction receiving surface 3 of a ceiling slab. The jacks 4, 4A are applied with pressure while having a pressure difference of a specified ratio between the eccentric side and the opposite side with the reaction being received by the reaction receiving surface 3 of the ceiling slab thus applying an eccentric vertical load to the resultant force point (p) of eccentricity (e).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
