ARRAY BASED HYBRIDIZATION ASSAY EMPLOYING ENZYMATICALLY GENERATED LABELED TARGET NUCLEIC ACID AND COMPOSITION FOR PRACTICING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide array based hybridization assay employing enzymatically generated labeled target nucleic acid and a composition for practicing the assay. PSOLUTION: A method for assaying a sample for the presence of the one or more nucleic acid analytes qualitatively or quantitatively is provided. DNA primer array is brought into contact with a sample to be assayed under DNA synthesis conditions sufficient to produce the enzymatically generated labeled target nucleic acids on the surface of the array at a prescribed location at which the DNA primer is hybridized with the nucleic acid analytes to produce a double-stranded nucleic acid. The presence of labeled target nucleic acids on the array surface are detected at the location to determine the presence of one or more nucleic acid analytes in the sample. A kit for practicing the method is provided. The above is used for a variety of different applications, including differential gene expression analysis. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
