PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten access time and to perform a high speed recording and reproducing without providing a memory of large capacity in the inside of a device by forming a logical format so that the logical address of an mth unit area in one group area is continuous to the logocal address of an mth unit area in an adjected group area. ;SOLUTION: In this recording medium 1, group areas G1∼G8 are lined up in rotation on the same track. A group area 9G being on the track of the outside of the track had by a group area G8 has an unit area having a logic address continuous to the logical address had by the final unit area in the group area G8.
