PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently classify reusable toner from recovered toner while suppressing mesh clogging and toner aggregation of a classifying device composed of a mesh filter. ;SOLUTION: A mixture of the recovered toner 14 and a clogging prevention material 15 is supplied into the filter 12 of the classifying device 8 with a screw conveyor 11. As the clogging prevention material, a material, the grain diameter and specific gravity of which are larger than those of the recovered toner and the grain diameter of which is larger than the opening area of a filter mesh is used. The rotation of a fur brush 13 makes the clogging prevention material freely make a movement inside the filter to thereby remove toner, paper powder or toner aggregate stuck to the filter mesh and also to prevent the toner from being aggregated by the agitation of the recovered toner.
