A mat comprising a closed body portion comprising a top layer, a bottom layer, a left side edge, a right side edge, an upper edge and a lower edge; a blanket attached along a portion of one of said left side edge and said right side edge, wherein an open area on said top layer that is partially bordered by said upper edge remains uncovered when said blanket is fully extended across said top layer; and an articulable pillow attached along said upper edge and a method for making the same.
