The present invention relates to the identification of polypeptides that are useful for eliciting an immune response against Ehrlichieae and Rickettsieae pathogens when administered to an individual. Therefore these polypeptides, and encoding polynucleotides, can be used in various strategies to prevent or treat Ehrlichieae and Rickettsieae infections.
