The apparatus is for lifting a goal unit, particularly one for handball or football, from a pitch ground surface. It comprises a basic unit couplable to a tractor or lawn mower. Two support arms with support components can be moved between a lower position where the distance between the support components is between 1.5 and 2.5 m and a support position where they locate against the two goal posts of the goal to be lifted. - Preferably two lifting arms with gripping organs are provided, the gripping organs being movable between a lower position, and intermediate grip position, where they can be brought into engagement with upper parts of the goal to be lifted. At the same time, the support components locate against the goal posts.
