The printed products (2) are conveyed in suspended position crosswise to their main surfaces. Conveyors (13) or one conveyor (11) convey holders (1) along a conveyor stretch. A stacking surface (4) has an underneath foot (5) and protrudes into the flow of conveyed articles. The stacking surface has a top edge on a plane parallel with the main surfaces of the printed products. The holders are equidistant on the conveyor and are opened separately by pick-up pieces (11).
