The manufacture and quality control of electrical wiring looms is facilitated by the use of a template. The loom has a number of cables (21-24) of different lengths that connect with a single plug (11). Each free end has a connector and fixing clips (41-47) are located at selected points. When laid of the template the clips and connectors are detected and an acoustic signal is initiated to signal when correct.
