A wire for addition of magnesium into the alloys based on iron consists of a metal sheath and powdered filler containing magnesium in the form of an alloy with silicon and iron. Ratio between magnesium and iron in the alloy content is of (0.2...1.5):1, ratio of magnesium content in the powdered filler and content of the filler itself in the wire is within the range of 0.1...0.5, and ratio of wire constituents is the following: powdered filler 45...59 % by weight metal sheath 41...55. % by weight.
