A POWDERED WIRE FOR ELECTRIC ARC SPRAYING OF WEAR-RESISTANT COATINGS

The invention relates to the metallurgy and more particularly to gas-thermal spraying materials in the form of wire by application of wear-resistant electric arc coating on working surfaces of machines and mechanisms pieces operating in the conditions of liquid (hydrodynamic) and semi-liquid (dry or extreme) friction. A powdered wire for electric arc spraying of wear-resistant coatings consists of steel shell and core material of which contains aluminium, iron, ferrochrome and additionally contains hematite and potassium permanganate at the following ratio of wire components, % by weight: aluminium 4.0-6.0, iron 17.0-19.0, ferrochrome 5.0-7.0, hematite 1.5-1.9, potassium permanganate 03-0.7, and the rest is steel shell. The invention provides an increase of wear -resistance, strength of adhesion with the base and strength of electric arc coating being obtained by electric arc spraying of powdered wire, e.g. on crankshaft neck, support necks of distribution shaft of internal-combustion (carbureted or diesel) engine.
