METHOD FOR VERBALLY TRANSLATING LANGUAGE WORDS AND WORD COMBINATIONS AND THE VERBAL TRANSLATION DEVICE BASED ON THE METHOD

The proposed method for verbally translating language words and word combinations consists in transforming the voice signal into a digital signal, analyzing the words and word combinations and transforming them into a sequence of the signal elements, such that each element is assigned the defined vector of the signal parameters, optimally presenting the voice signal as a phoneme sequence by using the specified likelihood criterion, and accomplishing the linguistic analysis of the said phoneme sequence for the following translation of the word and word combinations. The verbal translation device based on the method contains a microphone, a loudspeaker, an analog-to-digital converter for the microphone output signal, a digital-to-analog converter for the loudspeaker input signal, a voice signal processor, a nonvolatile memory unit, a microprocessor control unit, a display, and an interface unit for connecting the device to a personal computer. The outputs of the signal processor are connected accordingly to the input of the digital-to-analog converter and the input of the control unit. The outputs of the control unit are connected accordingly to the input of the display and the input of the interface unit.
