The invention is a method of selecting and recruitingextras for use in film and television production,comprising creating and maintaining a server with adatabase containing profiles for available extras. Thecasting director is then provided with a portable computerto connect to and access the database. The castingdirector downloads selected portions of the database to theportable computer and selects the required extras from theprofiles in the selected portion of said database.
