The invention relates to a method and apparatus for bending and tempering orheat-strengthening a bidirectionally curved glass panel. A heated glass panelis curved in a main bending direction parallel to the advancing direction andin a sagging direction transversely to the advancing direction. Curving in thesagging direction is performed by bending conveyor rolls (4), the bending ofwhich is effected by turning lever elements (7) bearing-mounted for freerotation on the ends of the conveyor rolls. Between the outer ends of thelever elements (7) is a push rod (8), whose length is quickly variable bymeans of an actuator (9).
