METHOD OF SEPARATING EPITHELIAL CELLS FROM A HUMAN OR ANIMAL URINE SAMPLE

The invention relates to a method of separating epithelial cells from a human or animal urine sample containing said cells. The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: (a) microfiltration of the urine sample on a membrane filter with an average pore diameter of 11 µm, in order to obtain a microfiltration retentate containing mostly epithelial cells, and (b) recovery of the cells from the microfiltration retentate by treating the membrane filter with a solution containing trypsin.
