A gene participating in the perpetual blooming of an angiosperm. This gene encodes a protein described in the following (a) or (b): (a) a protein containing the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2; and (b) a protein containing an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 by substitution, deletion, addition or insertion of one or more amino acids and being capable of regulating flower bud formation at the shoot apext of an angiosperm. By inhibiting the function of this gene in an angiosperm, it is possible to make the angiosperm perpetual blooming.
