The aim of the invention is to prevent constant needless switching to another antenna in an antenna diversity reception system comprising several antennae (A1 -A5). To achieve this, the reception quality of the respectively instantaneously used antenna (A1) is stored in a memory (S). If a malfunction such as a malfunction in the amplitude of the reception signal is detected by a malfunction detector (D), switching occurs to another antenna (A2) and the reception quality thereof is compared with the previously used antenna (A1).
