PURPOSE: An OFDM transmitter capable of improving receiving performance and a method for processing signals thereof are provided to efficiently obtain synchronous signals without increasing an amount of data transmitted to a receiving side. CONSTITUTION: A FEC(Forward Error Correction) unit(100) codes inputted data for correcting an error generated during transmission. A serial/parallel converter(200) coverts the inputted data into parallel data. An insertion unit(300) inserts pilot data into a center of the N parallel data. A first guard band is inserted into a front end part of the N parallel data, and a second guard band is inserted into a rear end part of the N parallel data. An N-IDFT(N point Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform) unit(400) modulates N parallel data of a frequency area with 0 to N-1 subcarrier waves for inverse fourier-converting into N sample data of a time area. The sample data are converted into serial data. A guard interval insertion unit(500) inserts a guard interval into the output serial data. A synchronous insertion unit(600) inserts synchronous information into the OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal.
