PORCINE KIDNEY EPITHELIAL CELL LINE FOR REPLICATION OF VIRUS AND USE OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A porcine kidney epithelial cell line for replication of virus and the use thereof are provided. The porcine kidney epithelial cell line has improved infectivity titer and the influenza virus produced from the porcine kidney epithelial cell line does not induce antigenic change of the HA1 region of hemagglutin molecule. Therefore, it can be useful for production of influenza virus vaccine for human and animals. CONSTITUTION: A porcine kidney epithelial cell line(VL-PKEC)(KCTC 10299BP) for replication of virus is free of HA antigenic change. The virus is Japanese encephalitis virus, porcine circovirus or influenza virus, and the influenza virus comprises all subtypes of influenza viruses. A method for replication of virus without HA antigenic change comprises the steps of: (a) infecting a virus to be replicated with the porcine kidney epithelial cell line(VL-PKEC)(KCTC 10299BP); (b) culturing the infected virus; and (c) isolating and purifying the virus when the virus shows high titer.
