PURPOSE: A fishing rod is provided to achieve an improvement in gripping thereof, resulting in easy and comfortable use of the fishing rod. CONSTITUTION: The fishing rod(10) comprises a body(11) and a grip(12), the grip being mounted with an assist member(24). The assist member includes a retaining frame and an elastic piece(28). The elastic piece is disposed at a portion to come into contact with the hand of an angler, and has a shore hardness of approximately 60. The retaining frame has legs(30), and the grip has small holes. Through the engagement of the legs and the holes, the position of the assist member is determined.
