Method and System for Displaying Military Coordinates on Mobile Telecommunication Terminal

PURPOSE: A system for displaying military coordinates in a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to receive a position coordinates value of a mobile communication terminal to convert the value into military coordinates, and to generate a military map that displays the military coordinates, thereby receiving a location-based service through the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal(100) receives navigation data, delivers the navigation data, and receives a military coordinates service. A mobile communication network(120) processes a call attempt, and transceives the navigation data. A WAP gateway(130) performs a communication code conversion or a protocol conversion, and interworks the mobile communication network(120) with the Internet(140). A mobile communication provider server(150) supplies the military coordinates service, and operates WGS84(World Geodetic System) coordinates. A coordinates conversion server(160) receives the WGS84 coordinates, and converts into MGRS(Military Grid Reference System) coordinates. A map generation server(170) receives the MGRS coordinates, reads a military map or a general map, and transmits the map to the terminal(100).
