LCD(LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY) DEVICE HAVING PIXELS WITH SMALL LEAKAGE CURRENT, NAMELY, LCD DEVICE IN WHICH GATE INSULATING-TYPE FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTORS ARE COMPRISED IN EACH PIXEL
PURPOSE: An LCD device having pixels with a small leakage current is provided to connect plural TFT elements for independently controlling gate voltages, respectively, between a data line and a pixel electrode in serial, thereby suppressing a leakage current of the TFT elements and reducing voltage stress of a gate insulating film. CONSTITUTION: A pixel(10) includes the first to third N-type TFT elements(16,18,19) connected between a data line(DL) and a pixel electrode(Np) in serial. Gates of the first to third TFT elements(16,18) are connected to the first gate line(GL), while a gate of the third TFT element(19) is connected to the second gate line(GL#). Each of the first and second gate lines(GL,GL#) is set to a high voltage which can sufficiently turn on the first to third TFT elements(16,18,19). The first gate line(GL) is set to a low voltage which can sufficiently turn off the first to second TFT elements(16,18), while the second gate line(GL#) is set to an intermediate voltage of the highest and lowest voltages transmitted on the data line(DL).
