PURPOSE: An ophthalmologic apparatus is provided to achieve improved accuracy of measurement even when the diameter of the pupil of an eye to be examined is small and the difference between the diameter of the pupil and the measurable minimum pupil diameter is small. CONSTITUTION: An ophthalmologic apparatus comprises a measurement beam projection unit for projecting measurement beam into the pupil of an eye to be examined; an eye examining unit(2) for receiving the measurement beam and measuring the eye to be examined; an alignment beam projection unit for projecting alignment beam onto the cornea of the eye to be examined; a detection unit for detecting a cornea vertex position from a cornea-reflected beam of the alignment beam; an image pickup unit for photographing images of a front part of the eye; a calculation unit for calculating the center position of the pupil of the eye and pupil diameter in accordance with the signal output from the image pickup unit; and a control unit for comparing the pupil diameter calculated by the calculation unit with a predetermined value, and converting control method of the eye examining unit.
