PURPOSE: A system for inquiring an automobile and a method for the same are provided to basically prevent evading an inspection through the forgery and alteration of the licence number. CONSTITUTION: A system for inquiring the automobile includes an integrated circuit chip card(10), a licence number plate(20), an automobile information acquiring device(100) and a server(200) of a central control center. The integrated circuit chip card(10) and the licence number plate(20) are installed at the automobile. The automobile information acquiring device(100) reads the intrinsic identifier of the automobile recorded on the integrated circuit chip card(10) by the radio frequency signal and transmits the data on the acquired identifier and the licence number to the central control center by recognizing the license number. And, the server(200) of a central control center determines whether the corresponding automobile is inspected or not by comparing the information stored in the database with the intrinsic identifier and the license number received from the automobile information acquiring device(100) to output information on the determined result.
