The method involves connecting pull-up resistors (Rpu1, Rpu2) and pull-down resistors (Rpd1, Rpd2) with a host interface e.g. MMCinterface. High and low voltage potentials (VDD, VSS) are sequentially connected to the respective pull-up and pull down resistors. Electrical load parameters of the interface are measured when the sequentially connected voltage potentials are connected to the respective resistors. The measured load parameters are compared with a predetermined value, and a specification of the interface is identified based on the comparison.
