DEVELOPMENT OF CROSSLINKED CHITOSAN FIBER BY EPICHLOROHYDRIN ON ON-LINE WET SPINNING SYSTEM HAVING A SIMPLE PROCESS AND IMPROVING PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
PURPOSE: Development of crosslinked chitosan fiber by epichlorohydrin on an on-line wet spinning system is characterized by using organic acid as a solvent of chitosan, using alkali as a non-solvent and a catalyst of epichlorohydrin(a crosslinking agent), blending the crosslinking agent with a dope to practice formation of fiber and crosslinking simultaneously, having a simple process, improving physical properties and having excellent crosslink efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of crosslinked chitosan fiber is as follows: (a pre-treating step) removing inorganic salt and protein from material containing chitin, followed by deacetylating the material; (a dope manufacturing step) dissolving the material and 0.1-10wt.% of epichlorohydrin(a crosslinking agent) into a solvent; (a spinning step) spinning the dope to crosslink and to form fiber; washing the fiber; and then drawing, post-treating and drying the fiber.
