PURPOSE: A wireless communication method of a wired/wireless composite communication device and an apparatus are provided to automatically set a wireless communication operation mode according to linking between a fixed line communication module and a wired communication network. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether a wireless communication operation mode is set to an automatic selection mode(72). If the wireless communication operation mode is set to the automatic selection mode, it is determined whether a fixed line communication module is linked to a wired communication network(74). If the fixed line communication module is not linked to the wired line communication network, a wireless communication operation mode of a wireless communication module is set to an infra-structure mode(76). If the fixed line communication module is linked to the wired communication network, the wireless communication operation mode is set to an one-to-one communication mode(78).
