PURPOSE: A method for recognizing letters for studying the dictation is provided to help a child study the dictation by generating a pronunciation corresponding to a selected letter when the child moves a sensor pen along the selected letter containing a specific code. CONSTITUTION: The method for recognizing letters for studying the dictation is performed by using an apparatus comprised of a sensor pen for reading the letters, a memory for saving the letter/voice data, a central processing unit, and a voice output device. The method comprises the steps of; producing a count code for detecting an advance route of the sensor pen, and a letter discrimination code; inputting the count code and the letter discrimination code via the sensor pen; sampling the letter data corresponding to the letter discrimination code as well as the voice data corresponding to the letter data from the memory; performing the comparative operation of the input count code and the stroke order of the letters; generating the voice data via the voice output device if the results of the comparative operation are accord with each other.
