PURPOSE: Provided is novel Lactobacillus sp. RKY2(KCTC 10353BP) as a lactic acid bacterium which is separated from the fermented soybean paste. Also, provided is a production of lactic acid using the same. CONSTITUTION: The production of lactic acid is characterized by culturing the novel Lactobacillus sp. RKY2(KCTC 10353BP) in the fermented soybean paste consisting of glucose as a carbon source and a yeast extract as a nitrogen source. Therefore, lactic acid, which is an industrially important organic acid, is produced in a large amount.
