METHOD FOR SEARCHING DATABASE OF MOBILE PHONE

PURPOSE: A method for retrieving a database of a cellular phone is provided to firstly perceive a current database save status by using an elementary file that saves a database status within a UICC(Universal Integrated Circuit Card), and to selectively read records only in which save status bits are enabled, thereby reducing time for retrieving/loading various data. CONSTITUTION: A terminal selects a database elementary file before selecting an elementary file on a UICC, and reads save status information. The terminal decides records in which a substantial file is saved on the basis of the save status information, reads corresponding file information, and reads data on all files saved in the UICC. The elementary file is an SMS(Short Message Service) file. The save status information is read through a read record. The save status information is saved in bit stream structure.
